The KDL46X3000 is fully HD 1080p compatible. This offers you very large number of pixels to use when creating the picture. The 'p' in 1080p signifies 'progressive scan', this means that on every picture refresh all the lines are updated rather than every other line which happens with interlaced displays. This adds extra stability and smoothness to fast-moving images whilst retaining more detail. This makes the KDL46X3000 an excellent HD LCD TV for viewing fast moving content such as sport broadcasts, action movies and the latest games.

The KDL-46X3000 features Sony’s MotionFlow +100Hz technology which ensures scenes with movement remain smooth and detailed with not ghosting, bluring or artefacts. Conventional LCD televisions shows the image at 50 frames per second (50Hz). Sony’s MotionFlow +100Hz HFR intelligently creates a set of intermediate frames which it inserts between the original frames. This doubles the frame rate to 100 frames per second (100Hz). The results are silky smooth images, full of detail.
