Samsungs new range of LED TVs have been receiving brilliant reviews since their recent release.  There are currently 3 different sizes available coming in 40, 46 and 55” models.  LED backlight technology allows the TV to be surprisingly thin and the Samsung Series 7 range of LED TVs measure less than 3cm in depth.

What is the different between a LCD TV and LED TV?

Both LCD and LED TVs use a LCD display panel  for creating the picture.  The difference is that a LCD TV uses a series of fluorescent tubes to create the backlight and make the picture visible and a LED TV uses a series of small LEDS.

Some of the benefits of LED backlighting vs traditional LCD TV backlighting include

• LEDs use significantly less energy when in operation.
• LEDs take up less room in the TV and hence the TV can be manufactured smaller for the same screen size.
• LEDs are more environmentally friendly to manufacturer than fluorescent tubes

Due to the smaller size and weight of the LEDs even the largest models of Samsungs Series 7 range can be mounted on the wall with a single screw.

Don’t let their thin size fool you, there is still an amazing array of features crammed into these LED TVs.  All of the models feature 4 individual HDMI connectors for you to connect your high definition devices including HD camcorders, Blu-ray players, etc.
All the models come equipped with 100Hz Motion Plus which gives you a smoother, sharper picture during fast moving scenes.  This is achieved by taking the original 50 frames per second from the video signal and creating another set of 50 intermediate frames that are inserted between the originals.  This transforms the refresh rate of the picture from 50Hz to 100Hz giving you a smooth picture with little or no jagged lines or motion blur.
