This LCD TV has a full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels which is currently the highest resolution supported by the HD standard.
The Sony KDL-40Z5500 takes creates a set of intermediate frames which are inserted between the original frames raising the frame rate from 50 per second to 200 per second. This will result in a smoother more detailed picture especially noticeable during fast moving scenes such as sport, games and action movies.
The MotionFlow 200Hz even works well with movies and cartoon which have been filmed at 24p. An additional 7 images will be added per second giving you a superior reproduction of the original source, taking away any form of judder of motion blur you would usually see.
The KDL40Z5500 uses Sony’s BRAVIA 3 picture processing engine which applies a series of picture enhancing and noise reduction routines giving you a crystal clear image. On top of this there is Live Coluor Creation technology and a Wide Colour Gamut Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) backlight. This allows the KDL40Z5500 to reproduce an amazing array of colours, tones and shades making images seem more life like and the way nature intended them to be viewed.
