The KDL-40V4000 LCD television from Sony has a 40" (102cm) LCD screen featuring the sleek draw the LINE design with Piano Black finish.

Sony’s draw the LINE design is a new concept about clean, understated lines that enhance your environment without distracting from the total viewing experience. All excessive parts and unnecessary spaces have been removed, so you can focus on the amazing screen and high-resolution picture quality.

With the Sony KDL-40V4000 you can enjoy a crisp and clear picture quality thanks to the BRAVIA ENGINE 2 image processor. By using innovative technologies such as Advanced Contrast Enhancer and intelligent noise reduction routines the BRAVIA Engine 2 adds an additional 4 image processing stages to the original BRAVIA Engine. The results are astonishing and you are treated to an amazingly clear and life-life colour reproduction with only the most natural tones. Black levels are deep and detailed and bright scenes are crisp with no loss of detail.

The KDL-40V4000 is a full HD LCD meaning you can watch TV, movies and play computer games in superb High Definition detail thanks to the 6.2 mega pixel resolution. Most standard definition televisions only have 720 x 576 pixels. The KDL-40V4000 has a total of 1920x1080 pixels. The more pixels, the more detailed the image will look.

The Sony KDL-40V4000 is finished in stunning Piano Black. This stunning high gloss, black finish is the height of sultry design sophistication, it will become the centre piece of any living room. It also has a versatile swivel function making it easy to position and adjust.

The KDL-40V4000 includes Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer. This neat feature optimises the contrast of each scene by adjusting the LCD’s backlight level to deliver more subtle levels of gradation. This results in the reproduction of deeper blacks, even in the darkest scenes, without losing any of the brightness to create a stunning sense of depth.

If you enjoy watching films then this could be the LCD TV for you . With the 24p True Cinema mode you can view movies how the director intended at 24 frames per second. Most televisions display 25 frames per second, but movies are filmed at 24 frames per second. This means when watching via your DVD player you are actually watching the movie 4% faster than is was recorded. The KDL-40V4000 can play the movies at the original 24 frames per second exactly how they were recorded.

The KDL-40V4000 features Sony’s BRAVIA Sync allowing the one touch control of all of your compatible audio/video components. By sending control signals via the HDMI cables you can control all of your equipment from a single remote control.

When it comes to connections with the KDL-40V4000 you are spoilt for choice. There are three HDMI™ inputs (two on rear, one on side, all with CEC) making it even easier to connect the High Definition sources such as Blu-ray Disc™ and upscaling DVD players and the latest games consoles. There are also 2 x SCART connectors, a PC input and Composite and Component inputs amongst others.

With the KDL-40V4000 you can experience a 5.1 style surround sound experience thanks to Virtual Dolby® Surround. By using small delays and volumes changes in the audio, your ears can be tricked into thinking sounds are coming from different directions. This is achieved using only the 2 integrated front speakers and does not require additional speakers to be placed around the room. There is also BBE ViVA sound technology to further enhance the audio ensuring the KDL-40V4000 sounds as good as it looks.
