HD1080p
HD 1080p offers you very high number of pixels when generating pictures. The
'p' in 1080p stands for 'progressive scan', which means that all the lines are scanned at once to add extra stability and smoothness to fast-moving images. This makes

Integrated Digital Tuner / Freeview
The KDL40X3000 comes complete with it’s own integrated Digital Freeview Tuner. This means that there is a built in receiver that that will give you access all of the FreeView channels without the need for a separate digi-box.

HDMI Sockets

By using very precise variations in timing and volumes the S-Force system tricks the brain into think that the sound is coming from different directions. This gives the Sony KDL 40X3000 a enhanced quality of sound and the impression of 5.1 channel surround sound without the need for many extra speakers.

Live Colour Creation
Live Colour Creation is a clever backlight system which allows the Sony KDL-40X3000 to produce a wider colour gamut. This can be seen particularly with the red and green areas of the colour spectrum. This allows the picture to have more lifelike colours appearing more natural with no annoying smudging or dulling of the image.

BRAVIA Engine PRO
The KDL40X3000 features Sony's renowned BRAVIA Engine Pro technology.
This technology gives you greater definition and ensures that
you'll see every detail.

The BRAVIA Engine Pro reduces colour distortion by decreasing 'cross colour', 'dot crawl' and 'moire'. This is the sort of distortion that you might see on patterns such as a checked shirt. This also clears a lot of the haze that you often see around lettering or text so that they appear perfectly sharp and readable on your screen. It also enhances specific areas of low contrast within the image giving an overall crisp picture. This is great for darker scenes where details can often be lost.

The BRAVIA Engine Pro also smoothes scenes with lots of motion, preventing jagged edges and the bleeding of colours on faster moving objects, ideal for sports, action sequences and games. It also matches colours ensuring exact colour reproduction and that the final image is reproduced exactly as the original source intended. This makes colours on the KDL-40X3000 seem incredibly natural and true to life.

Dynamic Contrast
The contrast ratio offered by the KDL-40X3000 is improved and all viewable shades between the brightest whites to the darkest blacks are maintained. This means that the picture appears to have more depth and detail. This has been achieved by adjusting the backlight brightness according to the brightness of the scene. Sony's unique dynamic contrast system features ACE (advanced contrast enhancer) which ensures
all of the subtle shades of grey are maintained providing you with beautiful images and high levels of detail no matter what you are watching..

24P True Cinema
The KDL40X3000 features a '24p True Cinema' mode and makes it a a perfect match for watching movies. Films are usually shot at 24 frames per second, but in the UK televisions operate at 25 frames per second or multiples of 25 frames per second. This means that when you watch a movie on DVD, you are actually watching it sped up by 4 per cent. The '24p True Cinema' feature enables the KDL-40X3000 to display the films are their intended 24 frames per second as they were recorded.


BRAVIA Theatre Sync
The KDL40X3000 features Sony’s BRAVIA Theatre Sync. This allows a one touch control over your whole Home theatre set up from a single remote control. Simply press the Theatre button on the KDL-40X3000’s remote control and have the
TV's sound turns off, the picture settings configure themselves automatically ready to watch a movie and you home cinema system turn itself on ready to play the sound. This takes the hassle and complexity out of watching a DVD so that you can just sit back and concentrate on enjoying the movie.
